Authors do write in languages other than English, and some do it quite well. Publishers -- American publishers, especially -- don't have wide horizons, and they often miss much of the important work being done abroad. There is a trickle of literary translations, but it is small.
At the complete review we want to make you aware of some of the things you are missing, as well as books that you are likely to hear about in the years to come. That is why we also offer reviews of books that are not yet available in English.
