  • Al Jadid Magazine. A Review & Record of Arab Culture and Arts. Includes good literary coverage.
  • AllConsuming - comprehensive list of books mentioned in weblogs (as measured by links to Amazon.com)
  • Alt-X Online Network. "Where the digerati meet the literati." Includes the electronic book review, Mark Amerika's amerika online, and the "classic" grammatron. Nice look, interesting content, navigation a bit cumbersome.
  • Banipal. Magazine of Modern Arab Literature.
  • BBC book page. Book news and reviews.
  • BiblioMonde. French site with international focus.
  • Book Beast. Book coverage at The Daily Beast.
  • Book Magazine. "Book goes beyond book reviews to cover the whole world of books, from all angles". Decent general book coverage, currently defunct.
  • Bookninja. Canadian focus, daily links, also reviews and essays.
  • Bookreporter.com. "Where readers and writers click" (oy !). Reviews, interviews, articles.
  • The Bookseller. Good general information about current British publishing. (Have to register to get much of the information.)
  • Bookslut. Good book site with interesting material, reviews.
  • The Book Standard. Decent general information and articles about current US publishing.
  • Börsenblatt. Magazin fur den deutschen Buchhandel. German book news.
  • CNN's book page. "Dedicated to covering the full range of the book business". Not all content freely available.
  • Center for Book Culture Includes Dalkey Archive Press, Review of Contemporary Fiction, and Context
  • Constant Reader. Reader discussions. Good selection.
  • Contemporary Postcolonial and Postimperial Literature in English. Useful, far-ranging.
  • Contemporary Writers in the UK. "This unique, searchable database contains up-to-date profiles of some of the UK and Commonwealth's most important living writers".
  • The DNA of literature. All the author-interviews from The Paris Review (eventually). All in the detested pdf format, but a fantastic collection.
  • English Pen Online World Atlas. Plans to offer: "Everything you need to know about the world's great writers and emerging voices is on this site, created by PEN, the worldwide writers' association. We believe that great writing has the power to change your life, and to change the world."
  • fabula. French. "La recherche en littérature". Focus on literary scholarship.
  • goodreports.net. Daily link, occasional commentary and reviews.
  • Holt Uncensored. "A candid look at books and the book industry". Straightforward site, timely columns (but not frequently updated any more).
  • Identity Theory. Includes interviews and weblogs.
  • Jacket Magazine. "With poetry, interviews, reviews, articles on photography and type"
  • Lesen !. German TV book programme. Entire show can be viewed online.
  • The Literary Dick. "A place for book-lovers to come with their literary mysteries. Michael Wood (...) will be answering your queries."
  • Literary Resources on the Net. Excellent annotated links list on practically all things literary.
  • Literary Translation. Translation focus, British.
  • Das Literatur-Café. German site. "Der literarische Treffpunkt im Internet".
  • Literature & Translation. UNESCO offers vital information on still unknown foreign literatures, representative literary guide lists, as well as news from the international publishing and translation sector.
  • Literature in Context. "Presents European literatures in context for the 19th and 20th century".
  • The Modern Word. 20th century literature, including various author pages and other information. Limited scope, but fairly interesting, quite well done.
  • Nextbook. "A gateway to Jewish literature, culture & ideas." Links list to new reviews (in other publications), some other useful information and content.
  • Online Literary Criticism Collection at Internet Public Library. Over 4500 links, but of varying use, not comprehensive.
  • Pegasos. Literature related resources, including Author's Calendar (with very good summary author biographies).
  • PEN. Including: International PEN (also here), English Centre, American Center, and African Writers Abroad.
  • Perlentaucher. German. Mainly summaries (with links) of domestic and foreign press, specifically of literary coverage. Very useful.
  • Persimmon. Asian Literature, Arts, and Culture, fiction and non-fiction, as well as a book review section
  • places for writers. "Resources for Canadia writers", but also good general coverage.
  • Poets & Writers. Some articles from magazine, as well as additional, on-line only information.
  • Publishing News. British book trade news.
  • Readysteadybook.com. "A literary site". Mainly reviews, but also some author interviews and articles. Good, literary focus.
  • The Richmond Review. Literary magazine with some reviews, as well as fiction, poetry, interviews.
  • Slightly Foxed. "The Real Reader's Quarterly". Each issue of 96 pages contains around 25 reviews of between 30 and 40 books. Unclear how much will be freely accessible.
  • Society of Authors. Founded "to protect the rights and further the interests of authors". Some useful information.
  • spike magazine. "Picking the brains of popular culture." Extensive literary coverage.
  • 3AM Magazine. Good literary magazine, with fiction, interviews.
  • Transcript. Bi-monthly, tri-lingual review of books and writing from around Europe. "Its aim is to promote quality literature written in the smaller languages and to give wider circulation to material from small-language literary publications".
  • Translated Fiction. Booktrust site, with information about translation and translated titles. Recommended.
  • The Victorian Web. Very good Victorian literature resource.
  • Web del Sol. "A Fiction and Poetry Portal". Cluttered, packed site, but good diverse literary information and links.
  • Words Without Borders. "The Online Magazine for International Literature". Excellent introduction to international writers.
